SCALEX SUPERCARS

SPIRIT OF THE CLASS

The 1965 London GP was originally part of the 1964 season but, due to a date change, became the first race of the 1965 season. However, as no 1965 cars were ready, only 1964 cars participated.

BODY

Hard bodied plastic or resin cars of the 1961-64 1.5 litre F1 Grand Prix seasons only. Super Slots body kits favoured.
 

Bodywork modifications are only permitted to create more accurate models (e.g. suspension detail)

CHASSIS

Scalextric chassis as originally supplied.

Cars with open bodies can have dummy chassis created for the purpose of ballast installation. Ballast is unlimited.

Minimum ride height of 3mm.

Rear track: Maximum of 70mm (measured from the outer edge of each tyre)

Front track: Maximum of 64mm (measured from the outer edge of each tyre)

MOTOR

Stock Johnson 111 motor.

No rewinds are permitted but the motor may be stripped and cleaned.

WHEELS & TYRES

Scalextric plastic wheels front and rear as originally supplied.
 

PCS or other remoulds of the original Scalextric tyres.
 

Front tyres can be coated to reduce grip.

OTHER PARTS

Gears
Scalextric plastic 27 tooth crown and 9 tooth pinion.

 

Guide
NSR clip in standard guide (not deep wood guide).
 

Axles
Free choice
 

Bearings
Brass or plastic clip in bearings. Front axles may be tubed.
