NW&B CAN-AM CHAMPIONSHIP RD 2

Many thanks to all racers that came over to the Mill for Round 2 of the North Wales & Borders Can-Am Championship at South Manchester Slot Racing Club.

We had 20 racers - the biggest turnout so far in the championship and this included a person with a disability (Mike) and also a junior racer (William) which was their first time racing with us. Both showed some good pace through the day and they had some good duels after getting used to our Three Rivers track.

Sundays practice times were used for race seeding, which seemed to work well as we had some close racing throughout the day.

Dave Gilmore drove consistently fast all day and won both the morning (4 minute heats) and afternoon (7 minute heats) races with Martin Reynolds a close second in both and Steve Hills gaining third places.

We’re looking forward to the next round (3) at North Staffs on 20th September.

South Manchester Slot Racing Club will also be holding another round (Round 5) scheduled for 29th November using our new Houldsworth Park track. Hope to see you there!
